Mozambique: PM Swears Senior Officials Into Office

Mozambican Prime Minister Benvinda Levi has sworn in four women as senior officials, emphasizing the government's commitment to gender equity and women's empowerment.

On Thursday, Mozambican Prime Minister Benvinda Levi officiated the swearing-in of four senior officials, all of whom are women. The Prime Minister highlighted that these appointments are a testament to their demonstrated dedication and technical prowess in handling their respective roles. The new officials include Olga Manjate, the General Inspector of Labour; Ernestina Chirinda, the Chairperson of the Labour Mediation and Arbitration Commission; Lucia Luciano da Cruz, the General Director of the Agricultural Promotion and Rural Extension Fund; and Farida Abdula Urci, the General Director of Maputo Central Hospital.

Levi's remarks stressed the importance of promoting gender equity and empowering women in various spheres of governance and public service. The appointments are seen as a strategic move reflecting a commitment by the Mozambican government to enhance women's roles in leadership positions.
