On the third day of the Portugal W2RC stage, the 'Izoton Sport' duo had to remember how to flip a buggy
The 'Izoton Sport' team faced challenges on the third day of the Portugal W2RC stage after their buggy overturned, but they managed to resume racing after a quick recovery.
After two days of competing in the Portugal W2RC stage, the 'Izoton Sport' crew, consisting of Mindaugas Sidabras and Ernest Česokas, was classified ninth in the SSV category. They expressed their ambitions to stay in the top ten, but their plans were complicated on the third day of the competition. Having started the Friday stage well, they encountered an incident where their buggy flipped over.
The team described their initial progress as impressive, successfully navigating the first 50 kilometers due to their choice of more suitable tires for the terrain, along with mechanical repairs made to their brakes the previous night. However, an unexpected slippery section led to a rapid loss of control, resulting in the buggy overturning. The crew had to recall their experience from previous events, specifically the Morocco rally, to execute a recovery.
Fortunately, the 'Izoton Sport' crew managed to right the buggy within about 40 minutes and continued racing without further issues. They reported some visual damage to the buggy but confirmed that nothing was broken, allowing them to maintain their competitive momentum throughout the rest of the stage.
