The Nigerian Army has made significant progress in combating crime in Plateau State, arresting 53 individuals linked to criminal and extremist activities in a series of coordinated operations. The operations took place in Barkin Ladi and Jos North Local Government Areas, areas that have been contentious for security issues related to extremist groups and violent crime.

During the raids, troops targeted specific locations believed to harbor illegal activities. Notably, during a raid on a suspected drug hideout, nine individuals were apprehended along with a stash of suspected Cannabis sativa and various electronics. The effective deployment of resources by Sector 4 of Operations Ensuring Peace (OPEP) demonstrates the military's ongoing commitment to restore peace and security in the region.

In another proactive measure, Sector 1 troops, aided by special forces, detained 44 suspected members of the Sara Suka group, known for violent crime, across multiple towns in Jos North. This synchronized effort not only led to the capture of potential threats but also the recovery of stolen livestock and various weaponry, emphasizing the military's commitment to addressing both drug-related crime and violent extremism in Plateau.
