Man assaults ex-girlfriend for not accepting the end of the relationship, flees from police, and invades church during service

A man in Brazil was arrested for assaulting his ex-girlfriend after refusing to accept their breakup and later fled from the police, seeking refuge in a church during a service.

In Monte Aprazível, São Paulo, a 27-year-old man was arrested for assaulting his 25-year-old ex-girlfriend after he refused to accept the end of their relationship. The incident occurred on the night of Thursday, the 19th, when the victim reported to the police that she was physically assaulted and threatened with death by her ex-partner at her workplace.

Following the assault, the man fled in a car, but police quickly located the vehicle. When they attempted to stop him, he disregarded the police orders, leading to a chase. The pursuit ended in front of a church where the man's parents are pastors, coincidentally during a service, where he was eventually confronted by the police.

While in police custody, the suspect reportedly experienced a convulsion and was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Once he regained consciousness, he continued to threaten his ex-girlfriend, even in the presence of officers, warning that he would kill her. Authorities took the victim to the hospital for evaluation and she later provided a statement at the police station, illustrating the dangerous implications of domestic violence and the ongoing threat it poses to victims even post-assault.
