Police arrest couple suspected of killing man with a shot to the head during an argument in Avaré
A couple has been arrested in Avaré, Brazil, for the murder of a 32-year-old man during a dispute over a drug debt.
On Friday, the Civil Police of Brazil arrested a couple who are suspects in the murder of Rafael Fernandes Gomes, a 32-year-old man, during an argument related to a drug debt in the Ipiranga neighborhood of Avaré, São Paulo. The incident occurred on Sunday, the 15th, when the couple, aged 19 and 21, reportedly went to Gomes' home to demand payment of a R$ 50 debt. A heated argument ensued, escalating into physical violence when the suspects assaulted Gomes before firing multiple shots, one of which fatally struck him in the head. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries two days later, on the morning of Tuesday the 17th.
