The 'Rīgas zeļļi' basketball team led attendance figures in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League's regular season, surpassing all other Latvian teams.
In the recently concluded regular season of the 'Optibet' Latvian-Estonian Basketball League (LIBL), the 'Rīgas zeļļi' emerged as the most attended team among Latvian clubs. The team attracted an impressive 3,123 spectators for a single match, the highest for any team this season, indicating a strong fan base. Additionally, the average attendance for 'Rīgas zeļļi' games was 1,070.3 spectators, ranking them second overall in the league and first among local teams.
Following 'Rīgas zeļļi', the second most attended Latvian team was 'Valmiera Glass'/Vidzemes Augstskola, with an average of 746.2 spectators per game, while 'Ventspils' secured the third position with 659.7 average spectators. This demonstrates a competitive atmosphere among these clubs as they vie for fan support. Notably, the attendance figures of 'Ogre', 'VEF Rīga', and 'Liepāja' followed, but 'Latvijas Universitāte' finished last in attendance across both Latvian teams and the entire league.
The overall most popular team in the tournament was 'Tartu Universitāte'/Maks & Moorits from Estonia, which underscores the competitive spirit of the league that encompasses teams from both Latvia and Estonia.
