During a recent meeting at the Miami Security Forum, Lithuanian Foreign Minister K. Budrys highlighted the significant potential for enhancing bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Chile in various strategically important sectors. He noted that Chile stands as one of Lithuania's primary economic partners in South America, which sets the foundation for their joint initiatives in innovation, high technologies, cyber security, life sciences, and the space industry.
Budrys expressed Lithuania's keen interest in expanding collaboration with Chile, reflecting a broader strategy to strengthen economic ties and foster partnership in fields that are pivotal for both nations. Additionally, he acknowledged Chile's support of Ukraine's territorial integrity, which underscores the geopolitical significance of their alliance amidst ongoing tensions stemming from Russia's aggression.
The Miami Security Forum, organized by The Heritage Foundation, serves as an important platform for discussing security issues relating to the Western Hemisphere and the Euro-Atlantic space. By engaging in dialogue at this forum, Budrys and other leaders aim to address critical security challenges while also reinforcing international cooperation to pressure Russia and mitigate the implications of its activities in Ukraine.
