Tinubu urges Nigerians to uphold Ramadan values for peace, nation-building
President Bola Tinubu called on Nigerians to embrace the values learned during Ramadan for the sake of peace and nation-building.
In a speech commemorating Eid-el-Fitri, President Bola Tinubu urged Nigerians to uphold the values of patience, tolerance, and neighbourliness learned during the month of Ramadan. He addressed attendees after Eid prayers at the Dodan Barracks in Lagos, emphasizing that these values should transcend the religious timeframe and be incorporated into daily life to foster a unified nation.
Tinubu's remarks extended to the importance of charity, kindness, and compassion, which he encouraged should not only be observed during Ramadan but must be practiced continuously. He stressed that the progress and development of Nigeria hinge on peaceful relations among all citizens, advocating for a collective responsibility towards national stability.
The President also urged citizens to be vigilant and report suspicious activities to contribute to national safety. His message is indicative of a broader call for unity and a reminder that the foundation of a peaceful society relies on the engagement and commitment of every individual in the community.
