A 42-year-old woman in Odelzhausen was scammed out of 17,000 euros by fraudsters posing as police officers.

There has been a continuous wave of telephone fraud incidents, and recently a 42-year-old woman from Odelzhausen fell victim to a scam involving individuals impersonating police officers. The fraud took place on Thursday when the woman received a phone call from a scammer who cleverly manipulated the conversation to deceive her into handing over her money. According to the police report, the scammers informed her about a series of robberies in her neighborhood and insisted that they required her assistance to catch the criminals.

The scam involved the woman being instructed to place all her money into a cooking pot and drive to a local supermarket parking lot. The fraudsters claimed that this was necessary for police operations targeting the alleged robbers. Following their instructions, she packed her cash into a cotton bag adorned with images of VW buses and placed it under her car in the parking lot. After executing these instructions, the woman returned home, only to find that she had been tricked out of her savings by the audacious scam group.
