Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have received a significant blow ahead of the IPL 2026 season with fast bowler Harshit Rana being ruled out for the entire season due to a right knee ligament strain. The injury occurred during a recent warm-up match in the T20 World Cup between India and South Africa, leading to surgery in February and a long rehabilitation process that prevents him from participating in the upcoming IPL season.

KKR head coach Abhishek Nair has expressed that this loss is substantial, highlighting Harshit's crucial role in the team's composition over the past few seasons, particularly during championship runs.
