Zelensky: Ukraine has started drone production in Norway
Ukrainian President Zelensky announced that Ukraine has begun drone production in Norway as part of an agreement signed last year.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukraine has officially commenced the production of drones in Norway, marking a significant milestone in the bilateral cooperation between the two nations. This initiative follows an agreement signed in November of the previous year, which aimed to establish a drone production line in Norway by 2026. The collaboration is part of Ukraine's broader strategy to enhance its drone capabilities amid ongoing conflicts, while also strengthening ties with Norway and other European nations involved in defense production.
The deal stipulates that Ukraine and Norway will work closely together, benefiting both parties. Ukrainian expertise in drone technology is to be shared with Norway, which in return will enable Ukraine to gain production capacity and access to advanced drone technology. The drones produced in Norway will ultimately be donated back to Ukraine, providing essential support for its defense needs. This cooperative framework demonstrates the strong commitment both countries have towards mutual assistance in defense industry advancements.
Moreover, this collaboration aligns with Ukraine's existing partnerships in drone production with other countries like Germany, the UK, Denmark, and the Netherlands. As the urgency for military drone capabilities increases due to the ongoing conflict, this initiative signifies a key step towards enhancing Ukraine’s defense infrastructure while simultaneously fostering deeper industry connections with Norway and the larger European defense ecosystem.
