Piraí, a city in the state of Rio de Janeiro, is slated to become the site of a substantial energy and data hub thanks to an investment of around R$ 1 billion. This development was made possible by the contracting of the Nova Era Thermoelectric Plant during the Brazilian government's Capacity Reserve Auction. The hub is expected to produce 166 megawatts of energy and will feature a modern thermoelectric plant, a battery energy storage system, and a high-performance data center tailored for artificial intelligence applications.

The construction of this complex is projected to create approximately 300 jobs for local workers, providing a significant boost to the local economy.
