Jayant Chaudhary receives death threats, suspicious car seen outside his house
Central Minister and RLD leader Jayant Chaudhary has reportedly received death threats from an unknown caller, prompting a review of his security and an ongoing police investigation.
Central Minister and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) leader Jayant Chaudhary has become the recipient of serious death threats from an unidentified caller. The threats were reported after a suspicious white car, with tinted windows, was noticed lingering near his residence. Following the complaints, police have initiated an investigation, emphasizing the importance of securing the safety of the prominent political figure. The deputy of the local police informed PTI that the threat was communicated via a phone call received on March 18, and has been traced back to Murshidabad in West Bengal.
In a detailed complaint registered at Tughlak Road police station, Chaudhary reported that the caller threatened to kill him while mentioning the use of MP5 firearms. The caller inquired if the minister had reviewed certain documents that they had sent, and continued to harass him with threats before abruptly ending the conversation. Following the alarming phone call, the authorities located the same number that later sent a message comprising threats related to the minister's schedule, raising concerns about the seriousness of the threats.
This incident has triggered a considerable response from local law enforcement agencies, not only due to the nature of the threat itself but also because of the potential implications for Chaudhary's security as a high-profile political figure. Given the current tense political climate in India, such threats could have broader ramifications in terms of political safety and public perception, particularly in how political leaders navigate their security strategies in light of emerging threats.
