City Survey: The Most Satisfied with Quality of Life – Residents of Valmiera
A recent survey indicates that Valmiera residents express the highest satisfaction with their quality of life among Latvians.
The Central Statistical Bureau (CSP) has released results from a city survey that shows residents' satisfaction with quality of life remains consistently high in Latvia since the last survey conducted in 2022. Notable increases in satisfaction were recorded in Jelgava and Daugavpils, while small declines were observed in Jūrmala and Rēzekne. The survey highlights key areas where various cities excel, such as family-friendliness and safety, with Valmiera and Liepāja being recognized as the safest and most family-oriented cities.
Jelgava stood out for having the most satisfied residents regarding educational institutions, while Jūrmala was noted for high satisfaction with healthcare services. Cultural attractions received high ratings from residents in Liepāja and Rēzekne, while Valmiera and Ventspils were recognized as the greenest and most well-maintained cities. Overall, the survey indicated high levels of satisfaction with work-related aspects across all cities, with Daugavpils being identified as the easiest city for finding housing.
The survey's findings suggest that a safer environment contributes significantly to family satisfaction, especially for families with small children. As the cities aim to enhance or maintain their reputations in areas such as safety and family-friendliness, Valmiera's appeal as a desirable place to live could attract more families and bolster local demographics in the coming years.
