The Northern Regional Minister of Ghana, Mr. Ali Adolf John Mburidiba, recently launched the Shea 2026 Conference in Tamale, intending to link the shea industry to the nation's 24-Hour Economy initiative. This initiative is part of a broader strategy aimed at enhancing productivity, creating jobs, and encouraging businesses to operate continuously, thereby fostering industrial growth and increasing service availability. Mburidiba highlighted that the shea industry plays a crucial role in this strategy, as it has the potential to address various developmental issues including women's empowerment, food security, and overall industrialisation.

Mburidiba emphasized the significance of the shea industry within the Northern Region of Ghana, noting that the area not only boasts vast numbers of shea trees but also harbours resilient communities and women whose efforts and expertise are pivotal for sustaining this valuable natural resource. He underscored the importance of collaborating across borders to improve the economic and environmental contributions of the shea sector, marking the launch of the conference as a commitment to uplift the industry and ensure that its benefits extend beyond local communities.
