Woman arrested in operation linked to pilot accused of leading child sexual exploitation network in SP
A woman was arrested in São Paulo during an investigation into child sexual exploitation linked to a pilot accused of leading a network of abuse.
On the morning of Friday, July 20, the Civil Police of São Paulo arrested a woman in Campo Belo, located in the southern region of the city, during an operation targeting crimes of sexual abuse against minors. This arrest is a continuation of the operation "Apertem os Cintos" which previously led to the arrest of Sérgio Antônio Lopes, a pilot suspected of overseeing a child sexual exploitation network. He was detained on February 9 at Congonhas Airport.
Investigations indicate that the pilot used false documents to transport victims to motels, where he allegedly assaulted them sexually. The identity of the woman arrested has not been publicly disclosed. The temporary arrest warrant, alongside a search and seizure order, was executed by agents from the 4th Police Department for the Repression of Pedophilia, part of the Department of Homicide and Protection of Persons (DHPP).
According to the Civil Police, Sérgio is suspected of being part of a broader network involved in the sexual exploitation of children and adolescents, raising significant alarm regarding the safety and protection of vulnerable minors in the region. The ongoing investigation aims to uncover the extent of this network and enhance measures to combat child exploitation in São Paulo.
