The airline reported that the decision to reverse course was made with passenger safety in mind, as the aircraft made a U-turn after encountering difficulties.
Upon landing back in Delhi, a ground team was deployed to assist passengers, accommodating them in hotels due to the inconvenience caused by this sudden change in plans. Although the passengers expressed some distress, Air India emphasized the importance of following safety protocols and conducting necessary technical checks to mitigate any risks.
Air India mentioned that the flight was typically operated using a Boeing 777-337ER, but on this occasion, a Boeing 777-232LR was used for the journey. The airline expressed regret for the inconvenience faced by passengers and successfully ensured the safe disembarkation of all passengers and crew members after the incident. Further operational issues will be addressed to enhance the travel experience for future flights.
