Zalando is implementing up to 50 robots from the Polish company Nomagic to automate the processing of shoe boxes in its logistics chain.

Zalando, a major European online fashion retailer, is deploying up to 50 robots designed by the Polish company Nomagic to enhance its logistics operations. These robots, named 'Richard', are capable of recognizing materials and shapes, allowing them to sort shoe boxes, which have traditionally been one of the most challenging items to automate in the fashion logistics sector due to their loose lids that often detach during handling. Nomagic's CEO, Kacper Nowicki, emphasizes that by combining artificial intelligence with a physical system, they are solving significant physical issues and transforming a key bottleneck in the industry into a streamlined, automated process.

Following a successful pilot that achieved 100,000 order completions per day, Zalando is expanding this robotic implementation across several European countries, including Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, and France.
