DJ [Ex] da Bass has given a new sound to the song 'Pilni Vižņu Mani Mati'
Latvian DJ [Ex] da Bass has released a new Afro house remix of the song 'Pilni Vižņu Mani Mati', originally by Imants Ziedonis and Māra Upmane-Holšteine, which is set to reinvigorate the classic track.
Latvian DJ and producer Mareks Dainis, known as [Ex] da Bass, has created a dynamic new Afro house remix of the song 'Pilni Vižņu Mani Mati'. This track originally came out twelve years ago as part of a collaboration between the Imants Ziedoņa fond and vocalist Māra Upmane-Holšteine. The new version officially debuted on March 20, marking a contemporary reimagining of a beloved classic.
The inspiration for this remix struck Dainis during a seemingly ordinary moment after a night out when he heard the original track playing from a friend's Spotify playlist. Captivated by its deeply Latvian essence, he reached out to Upmane-Holšteine with the idea of breathing new life into the song, and was met with enthusiasm. The collaboration has brought together both nostalgia and modern electronic dance music flair, showcasing how traditional themes can continue to resonate with new audiences.
Despite challenges in accessing the original vocals for 'Pilni Vižņu Mani Mati', Dainis and Upmane-Holšteine were able to realize the project, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and creativity in the music industry. This remix not only pays tribute to the enduring nature of the original song but also signifies a step towards innovating Latvian music on a global platform, bridging generations through sound.
