Police are investigating the murder of an elderly man that occurred late Wednesday night in Malminkartano, Helsinki. The suspect, a 26-year-old male with a lengthy criminal history, has been previously charged with drug offenses and violent crimes. Although he had concealed his address, most of his criminal matters have been adjudicated in Helsinki.

Initially, the police were treating the incident as manslaughter, but the designation has now shifted to murder. According to police suspicions, the suspect fatally stabbed a man around 80 years old in a parking area near the center of Malminkartano on Wednesday evening around 11 PM.
