New statistics reveal the scale of Israeli airstrikes on Iran
New statistics illustrate the extent of Israeli airstrikes on Iran, detailing a significant campaign since the onset of hostilities in February.
Recent reports from Israeli news outlet Jerusalem Post have outlined the scale of Israeli airstrikes against Iran following the commencement of hostilities on February 28. The airstrikes are reportedly characterized by a "40/40" strategy, which claims the targeting of 40 Iranian leaders with 40 bombs in just 40 seconds. Since the beginning of the conflict, Israel has conducted a staggering number of airstrikes, dropping 12,000 bombs on various sites in Iran, with 3,600 of those specifically targeting Tehran.
The statistics detail that Israel has unleashed waves of aerial assaults, with 45 sorties hitting central and western Iran and an additional 50 targeting more distant regions. In total, there have been approximately 5,700 aerial missions conducted by Israeli forces. Additionally, airstrikes in Lebanon have resulted in the dropping of 2,200 bombs over 1,000 sorties, aimed primarily at Hezbollah positions with hundreds of targets hit across the country.
As reported by Al Jazeera, the past two weeks of this conflict have seen over 41,000 combined air and missile strikes by both Israeli and U.S. forces targeting nearly 6,000 locations within Iran. In reaction to these attacks, Iran has launched multiple waves of countermeasures. This intensification of military action signifies a stark escalation in regional conflicts, raising concerns about the potential for broader confrontations in the Middle East and the implications for international security.
