IEA proposes date-driven measures, lower speed limits, and fewer flights

The International Energy Agency (IEA) suggests interventions such as lower speed limits and reduced air travel due to rising oil prices caused by conflicts in the Middle East.

The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has severely impacted oil transportation through the Strait of Hormuz, which traditionally accounts for about 20% of the world’s oil consumption. As a consequence, global oil prices have skyrocketed to between $100 and $120 per barrel. In response to this situation, the International Energy Agency (IEA) believes that countries must not only manage supply but also reduce demand to mitigate these rising prices.
