Vancouver police issue warning after violent offender re-released into community
Vancouver police have issued a warning regarding the re-release of a violent offender, Jordan McIntosh, back into the community following a breach of his release conditions.
Vancouver police have sounded an alarm after Jordan McIntosh, a violent offender, was released back into the community. Previously, in September of last year, he was serving a conditional sentence for two counts of assault and one count of breach of release order linked to an incident from 2024. His conditional release included strict terms, notably wearing an ankle monitor; however, he violated these terms by cutting off the monitor and subsequently went on the run as of December 4.
The police involvement escalated due to McIntosh's violent history, particularly against women, prompting the Vancouver Police Department's Intimate Partner Violence and Risk Assessment Unit to take action. On March 2, detectives and district officers tracking McIntosh located him at a rooming house in the Downtown Eastside area. Impressively, the police had already prepared for an escape attempt, which McIntosh tried by leaping out of a window when confronted by officers.
