Master Case: Daniel Vorcaro is transferred from prison to the Federal Police Superintendency
Daniel Vorcaro, owner of Banco Master, was recently transferred from a maximum-security prison to the Superintendency of the Federal Police in Brasília following a request from his lawyer.
Daniel Vorcaro, the owner of Banco Master, was transferred on Thursday night from a maximum-security federal prison in Brasília to the Superintendency of the Federal Police, also located in the capital. This transfer was authorized by Justice Minister André Mendonça, the rapporteur for the Master case in the Supreme Federal Court (STF). Vorcaro arrived at the Superintendency by helicopter around 7 PM, following a formal request made by his lawyer José Luís Oliveira Lima, who specializes in cases involving plea agreements.
According to reports from G1 journalist Andréia Sadi, Vorcaro has already signed a confidentiality agreement with the Attorney General's Office and the Federal Police, which could potentially facilitate a plea bargain arrangement. His defense team had previously requested that Vorcaro be placed under house arrest instead of remaining in custody. However, Minister Mendonça denied this request and opted for the transfer to the Federal Police's Superintendency instead.
This transfer could be significant, as it indicates that Vorcaro may be cooperating with authorities, which might provide crucial information regarding the Master case and related allegations within the Brazilian banking sector. The developments in this case are being closely watched, particularly given the implications for both the banking industry and the political landscape in Brazil as investigations into corruption and financial irregularities continue.
