News 12 Poll: Likud Strengthens by Two Seats, Bennett Weakens by One

A recent poll indicates that Likud has gained two seats while Naftali Bennett's party has lost one seat in the current political landscape in Israel.

A new poll conducted by News 12 reveals significant changes in the Israeli political arena if elections were held today. Likud, the dominant party of former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, would garner 28 seats, an increase of two from the previous survey. In contrast, Naftali Bennettโ€™s party has seen a decline, receiving 20 seats, which is one seat less than in earlier polling. Other parties such as the Democratic Party led by Yair Golan and Yesh Atid led by Yair Lapid maintain their previous seat counts, while the right-wing Religious Zionism party, led by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich, and other smaller parties struggle to cross the electoral threshold.

The broader political landscape depicted in the poll shows that the opposition bloc would secure a total of 69 seats, with 10 of those going to Arab parties, maintaining the previous status. On the other hand, the coalition parties are projected to win only 51 seats. This poll, undertaken by the "Madgam" institute with iPanel's collaboration, adds to the growing narrative of instability in Israel's political fabric, emphasizing the fluctuating support for various factions.

Such polling results come at a critical juncture when the political dynamic is closely watched, especially in light of ongoing tensions and public sentiment surrounding government policies. This information is vital for understanding the shifting allegiances within Israel's electorate ahead of potential elections, signaling how current events may impact the future strategies of both coalition and opposition parties.
