Lollapalooza will have increased security with over 600 police per day in São Paulo
The security for the Lollapalooza festival in São Paulo will be reinforced with over 600 police officers present each day of the event, which runs from March 20 to 22.
The Lollapalooza festival in São Paulo is set to have enhanced security measures, with over 600 police officers deployed each day from March 20 to 22 at the Autódromo de Interlagos. The Secretary of Security announced that a special operation commenced on March 16 and will continue until March 26, to ensure the safety of the expected crowd of around 100,000 attendees daily. This initiative aims to bolster public safety during the popular music festival, which attracts large audiences each year.
The security plan includes more than 150 police vehicles, as well as specialized teams consisting of riot police, traffic officers, aviation units, and firefighters. The police presence will encompass a variety of patrol methods including on-foot patrols, vehicle patrols, mounted units, and aerial surveillance using drones and aircraft. This comprehensive approach is designed to create a safe environment for festival-goers and mitigate any potential security risks associated with large public gatherings.
Moreover, the police operations will extend beyond the festival grounds, intensifying security in surrounding areas such as train and metro stations, bus terminals, hotels, shopping centers, and major access routes to the venue. This broader strategy reflects a commitment to ensuring safety for residents and visitors alike, reinforcing the importance of security in public events as Brazil continues to host large-scale gatherings.
