Pedestrian killed in collision that closed stretch of major motorway for more than 15 hours

A pedestrian was killed in a collision on Scotland’s M80 motorway, leading to a closure lasting over 15 hours.

A tragic incident occurred on the M80 motorway in Scotland where a 44-year-old man was killed in a collision involving a pedestrian. The incident took place around 12:20 AM on Thursday near Denny, prompting immediate responses from emergency services. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Fortunately, there were no additional injuries reported from this incident.

The closure of the motorway was significant, affecting both the northbound and southbound lanes between junctions 9 and 8 near Sclandersburn Road overbridge. After a lengthy investigation and cleanup, the northbound lane was reopened by around 3:30 PM, while the southbound lane followed shortly after at approximately 4 PM.
