Expected by Venezuelans: Copa Airlines announced direct flights to two important cities starting in April

Copa Airlines is set to resume direct flights to Barquisimeto and Valencia, Venezuela, starting in April 2026, following previous operational challenges.

Copa Airlines has announced the resumption of direct flights to Barquisimeto and Valencia in Venezuela, benefiting the Venezuelan diaspora and facilitating easier travel to and from these cities. Scheduled to begin between April and May 2026, this service aims to reconnect Venezuela's western and central regions with international destinations through Copa's hub in Panama City.

The airline's decision follows a period of operational adjustments and diplomatic challenges that affected its services throughout 2025. Copa Airlines plans a phased reactivation of its services during the second quarter of 2026, with Barquisimeto and Valencia being significant additions to their network, which will include connections to 85 international destinations once fully operational.

These direct flights come at a time when many Venezuelans have sought improved travel options amidst ongoing economic and political challenges. With ticket prices starting at approximately US$569.60, this initiative by Copa Airlines is expected to ease travel for many in the region and contribute positively to the local economies by enhancing connectivity.
