Hopeasompa finals in cross-country skiing: watch the youth relays on Sunday

The Hopeasompa competition series for youth in cross-country skiing continues on Sunday with relay finals.

The Hopeasompa is a competitive series in cross-country skiing, ski jumping, and Nordic combined, designed for athletes aged 16 and under. This weekend, the finals for cross-country skiing will be held, featuring relay races that will be broadcast live on IS-TV. The event promises an exciting lineup, with various categories such as the M16, M14, N16, and N14 relay races scheduled throughout the day.

Starting from 10:00 AM, the first race will be the M16 relay, consisting of three athletes running a total distance of 3x5 km. Following that, the M14 relay will commence at 11:00 AM, consisting of 3x3.3 km. The program will also include awards ceremonies scheduled for the winners, as well as the handing over of the competition trophy to the Espoon Hiihtoseura club, further celebrating local talent in the sport.

The event highlights the importance of youth participation in winter sports in Finland, promoting physical activity and community engagement.
