See deviations in traffic during MotoGP in Goiânia
The MotoGP, the world's largest motorcycle racing event, is set to arrive in Goiânia, prompting significant traffic restrictions to ensure safety for the expected 200,000 attendees.
Goiânia is preparing for the onset of MotoGP, the premier motorcycle racing event globally, which is expected to draw a crowd of up to 200,000 visitors this weekend. To maintain safety and smooth traffic flow during this major event, local authorities have crafted an operational plan. Key players in this initiative include the Goianian Agency for Infrastructure and Transport (Goinfra) alongside the Municipal Secretariat of Traffic Engineering (SET).
The major impact of these preparations will be felt along GO-020 highway and its access points to the Goiânia International Autodrome Ayrton Senna, implementing restrictions from Friday, the 20th, to Sunday, the 22nd. Traffic will be affected significantly from 5 AM to 8 PM, with various blockades and limitations in place to handle the influx of motorsport fans and participants efficiently.
On the GO-020 highway, specific restrictions have been detailed. In the direction from Goiânia to Bela Vista, traffic will be blocked between km 0.5 (Av. José Hermano) and km 6.2 (Av. Primeira Marginal Leste). Conversely, in the direction from Bela Vista to Goiânia, restrictions extend from km 11 (at the intersection with GO-536) to km 3.1 (beneath the viaduct of Av. Alphaville). These measures are crucial for ensuring the safety and convenience of all attendees during the thrilling weekend ahead.
