Saint Joseph's Day is celebrated annually on March 19, honoring the patron saint of families and workers. In Aracaju, the São José Archdiocesan Sanctuary has organized a full schedule of religious observances that includes multiple masses throughout the day, starting as early as 6:30 AM with the Office of Saint Joseph, culminating in a procession in the evening.

The celebration is particularly significant within the Catholic Church, recognizing Saint Joseph as the earthly father of Jesus and Mary's spouse. The program of events reflects the rich tradition of devotion associated with this day, marked by communal religious activity and an emphasis on family values and agricultural work, as Saint Joseph is also the patron saint of farmers.

Throughout the day, five solemn masses will be led by different priests, culminating in a mass officiated by the Archbishop of Aracaju, Dom Josafá Menezes.
