A dead man was found near the four-lane road by Ostrava, which his family had been looking for. He had no visible injuries
Police discovered a deceased elderly man in a roadside ditch near Ostrava after a family reported him missing.
The body of an elderly man was found in a ditch along the I/11 highway, approximately 273.5 kilometers from Ostrava towards Opava. A passing driver alerted the police, who quickly arrived on the scene and attempted resuscitation; however, the arriving paramedics confirmed the man's death. Following identification, it was revealed that the deceased had been reported missing by his family just the previous day.
The police noted that there were no visible injuries on the man's body, which would suggest that he was struck by a vehicle, leaving them unable to determine the cause of death at this point. Given the circumstances, detectives are seeking information from the public, especially any witnesses who might have seen the man or know about his movements along the highway from March 18 at 4 PM to the early hours of March 19, 6 AM.
Authorities are particularly interested in motorists who drove through that area during the specified timeframe, especially those with dashboard cameras, to assist in piecing together the events leading to the man's death. This tragic finding raises concerns regarding the safety of elderly individuals in the area and the importance of community vigilance in such cases.
