Fraudulent Ads Using Celebrity Images 'Visualized' - Civil Group Receives Reports Through Website
A Japanese civil group has launched a website to report fraudulent advertisements that misuse celebrity images, aiming to visualize and track these scams.
In response to the rising prevalence of fraudulent advertisements utilizing fake images of celebrities on social media, a civil group named Digital Democracy 2030 (DD2030) has initiated a website designed to accept reports from citizens regarding suspicious ads. This platform seeks to 'visualize' the types and extents of fraudulent ads circulating online. During a press conference held by DD2030 representatives on the 19th, it was revealed that the site, titled 'Anti Fraud', received 111 reports in its first six days of operation, indicating a significant public interest in tackling this issue. The website aims to display reported suspicious ads prominently, while analyzing the content and presentation of these advertisements, particularly focusing on identifying any inconsistencies when celebrity images are used.
