The idea was sparked by Parodi's experiences in Genoa, where he marveled at the substantial force of water observed during operations such as the recovery of the Costa Concordia, showcasing water's immense power to lift heavy objects effortlessly. He recognized that many rivers, like the Dora Baltea, possess significant natural gradients that could be exploited for energy generation. For instance, between Aosta and Ivrea, there exists a 200-meter height difference that could provide considerable energy if only a small fraction of the water flow is utilized.
