“Super El Niño” will bring record temperatures. Anomalies may also affect Poland

Meteorologists predict that this summer could see the phenomenon known as 'super El Niño,' which may cause significant global weather anomalies, including in Poland.

Meteorologists are warning of a potential climate phenomenon this summer referred to as 'super El Niño,' which typically occurs when ocean temperatures in the equatorial Pacific rise significantly above normal. This event can lead to widespread weather anomalies across various regions of the world, with expectations that this particular iteration of El Niño may be exceptionally potent due to its designation as 'super.' As such, countries, including Poland, could experience unexpected weather patterns as a result of these climatic changes.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's (NOAA) Climate Prediction Center has assessed that there is a 62% risk of super El Niño developing between June and August. In the United States, this could result in drier and warmer conditions in the northern regions, whereas the southern and southeastern parts may face increased flooding risks. Experts emphasize that while the intensity remains uncertain, forecasts indicate a likelihood of average to strong El Niño events emerging this autumn or winter, which could significantly influence weather patterns globally.

The potential impacts of super El Niño are concerning for meteorologists, as such climatic events have historically been linked to extreme weather conditions. With weather anomalies predicted in various places across the globe, Poland is cautioned to prepare for possible temperature records and adverse weather conditions during this period. The unfolding situation calls for close monitoring and proactive measures to mitigate potential negative implications for agriculture, infrastructure, and public health in the affected regions.
