A man was shot and killed while sitting in his car at a gas station in Porto Alegre, Brazil.

On Wednesday night, a shooting occurred at a gas station in the North Zone of Porto Alegre, Brazil, resulting in the death of a man. The circumstances surrounding the incident suggest that it was an execution-style killing, as reported by the Brigada Militar (BM). The identity and age of the victim have not yet been disclosed, but it was confirmed that he was attacked while seated in a parked vehicle alongside a woman, who fortunately escaped unharmed.

According to Lieutenant Colonel Pedro Ceron, the commander of the 11th Battalion of the BM, five armed assailants arrived at the gas station in a silver car and opened fire on the victim multiple times around 10:40 PM. Military police patrolling in the area witnessed the shooting, and during the exchange of gunfire, one police officer was shot in the foot but sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The attackers managed to flee the scene in the same vehicle they arrived in.

In the aftermath of the shooting, law enforcement discovered some of the weapons used in the attack, including two 9 mm pistols, a ballistic vest, and ammunition magazines, which were abandoned by the assailants during their escape. A pistol was also found inside the victim’s car, indicating that the situation may have been more complex than initially perceived. This incident highlights ongoing issues of violence and organized crime within the region, raising concerns about public safety in Porto Alegre.
