The social work conference titled 'Motivation in Social Work: Between Hope and Resistance' will be inaugurated by Latvia's Minister of Welfare Reinis Uzulnieks. The event aims to bring together professionals from diverse fields to share their experiences and insights regarding the critical role of motivation in social work. Significant figures such as the State Secretary of the Ministry of Welfare Ingus Alliks and Ilze Skrodele-Dubrovska, the Director of the Social Work and Social Assistance Policy Department, will also be in attendance, signaling the importance of this topic at a governmental level.

Throughout the conference, various speakers will address different aspects of motivation and its psychological implications. Ieva Antonsone, the manager of the crisis center 'Burtnieks' under the 'Latvian Red Cross', will provide personal insights into her professional motivation. In addition, Dr. Ināra Vārpa, a specialist in narcology and psychotherapy, will discuss the psychological aspects of motivation. Agnese Umule and Eva Stikāne will share their experiences on professional paths and challenges within social work, indicating a broad perspective on the obstacles and rewards in this important field.

The second part of the day will focus on practical aspects of social work, highlighting the diverse needs of clients. Evija Rutmane, a social worker and educator, will discuss practical issues and share experiences that illustrate the varied demands faced in social work practice.
