On Wednesday, a man born in 1955 approached the Vilnius police to report a case of phone fraud. He stated that on Monday around 5:04 PM, while at home, he received a call from unknown individuals speaking in Russian. These scammers, impersonating employees of a telecommunications company and a bank, managed to deceive him and swindle 15,000 euros from him.

The police were alerted to the incident and have since opened a pre-trial investigation into the matter. This type of scam highlights the ongoing issue of phone fraud, particularly targeting vulnerable individuals who may not be aware of such schemes.
