KSeF problematic, but useful in certain matters
A recent survey revealed that while a majority of Polish businesses are encountering issues with the KSeF invoicing system, many still find it beneficial as they transition to full utilization.
The KSeF (Krajowy System e-Faktur) system is encountering challenges as a relatively small percentage of Polish entrepreneurs are fully utilizing it. Many businesses are still in the process of testing the system and preparing their infrastructure for seamless integration. Notably, companies that work with larger firms are required to accept invoices through KSeF, which adds pressure to smaller enterprises as they navigate this new requirement.
Recent data from a survey conducted by the consulting firm Grant Thornton revealed that 74% of businesses reported encountering various errors within invoices while using KSeF, highlighting the early stages of adaptation to this system. Interestingly, despite these difficulties, a majority (54%) of participants claimed that these issues did not significantly affect their operations, although 20% acknowledged experiencing negative impacts on their business activities.
These findings suggest a transitional phase for the KSeF system where challenges are present but could lead to beneficial outcomes as businesses adjust and evolve their processes. As companies continue to familiarize themselves with KSeF, the focus will likely shift towards enhancing the reliability and functionality of electronic invoicing, which is critical for the future of accounting practices in Poland.
