PM Gisele would not be able to reach the weapon of Lieutenant Colonel stored in the cabinet, points out expertise

A forensic investigation has determined that PM Gisele Alves Santana could not have reached the firearm stored above a cabinet in her apartment, contradicting her husband's account.

A forensic reconstruction conducted by the Military Police's Corregedoria revealed that PM Gisele Alves Santana, who was tragically found deceased in her home, would not have been able to access the firearm claimed by her husband, Lieutenant Colonel Geraldo Neto, to have been placed on top of a cabinet. Found with a gunshot wound to the head on February 18, Gisele was taken to the hospital where her death was confirmed.

The criminalistics report indicates that Gisele, who is 1.65 meters tall, could only reach a height of 1.73 meters when stretching on her toes. This is significantly below the 1.96 meters height required to reach the firearm, which was stored 2.04 meters off the ground. These findings challenge the narrative provided by Lieutenant Colonel Neto, who stated that Gisele retrieved the weapon before the fatal shot was fired, suggesting an alternative scenario to the events leading to her death.

This revelation raises serious questions regarding the circumstances surrounding Gisele's death and the investigation into the incident. Given the conflicting accounts and the forensic conclusions pointing to probable discrepancies in assertions made by her husband, the case may have broader implications for trust in procedural justice within the Military Police and among the public in Brazil, especially concerning domestic violence incidents.
