These individuals confessed to the heinous act of murder carried out as revenge for perceived humiliation. The case originated on January 17, 2025, when Vishal's mother, Veena Devi, filed a report about her son’s abduction, implicating his friends and neighbors. Initially, the police’s investigation stumbled, as the accused misled officials.

Subsequent to the initial investigation, a body resembling Vishal was discovered in a local area on January 31, 2025. Initially treated as an unidentified corpse, further inquiry revealed the tragic fate that befell Vishal, which was only unmasked thanks to renewed investigative efforts. The case, initially closed due to unknown circumstances, was reopened with a directive from SP Vikram Sihag, leading to significant breakthroughs.
