Body of 78-Year-Old Woman Found in Bathtub, Arrest Warrant Requested for Male Acquaintance in Murder Case
An arrest warrant has been sought for a man in his 40s suspected of murdering a 78-year-old woman whose body was discovered in a bathtub in Sakai City, Japan.
In January, the body of a 78-year-old woman was discovered in the bathtub of her home in the Nishiku area of Sakai City, sparking a police investigation. Authorities are requesting an arrest warrant for a man in his 40s who is believed to be connected to her murder and the disposal of her body. Investigators have found that the suspect frequently communicated with the victim and there were sightings of a man resembling him near her residence around the time of her death.
The victim, Keiko Kinoshita, lived alone and was discovered by her son on January 30, submerged in her bathtub with the front door locked. A forensic examination indicated that she had suffered multiple injuries, including broken wrists and bruises on her face, with her estimated time of death being January 29. The police believe that the suspect may have assaulted her at his residence before transporting her to her home.
Interestingly, Kinoshita's smartphone remains missing, and the investigation revealed that the SD cards in the dashcams of two vehicles parked on the property were absent, leading authorities to suspect attempts at evidence tampering. Police are preparing to carry out public appeals for information as they escalate their search for the suspect, who seems to have left the country shortly after the incident.
