According to a report titled 'Customer Satisfaction Ratings of Hotels in Greece and Competing Countries' prepared by INSETE, a research institute linked to Greece's tourism industry association SETE, Greek hotels achieved the highest ratings from guests compared to hotels in five other Mediterranean destinations. This assessment highlights Greece's competitive edge in the hospitality sector, particularly for those traveling in the Mediterranean region.

The study analyzed tourist reviews published online between April and October 2025, comparing customer feedback from Greece with that from Italy, Spain, Turkey, France, and Cyprus. Utilizing data from the Shiji ReviewPro platform, which specializes in hotel reputation management, the results show a significant preference for Greek hospitality among tourists visiting these destinations. Tourists appreciated the quality of service and facilities offered by the hotels in Greece, contributing to its top ranking in guest satisfaction.

The Global Review Index (GRI) for Greek hotels stood at an impressive 87 percent, securing the country the leading position among the analyzed destinations. This recognition not only enhances Greece's reputation as a prime tourist location but also underscores the importance of maintaining high standards in the hospitality industry as global tourism continues to recover and evolve post-pandemic.
