Lotte Kopecky secured her first victory of the season at the Danilith Nokere Koerse, while Laura Lizette Sander finished in the main group and regained her confidence after a tough previous race.
Lotte Kopecky, representing Team SD Worx – Protime, achieved her first victory of the season at the Danilith Nokere Koerse, held in Belgium. This event marks the seventh edition of the one-day race, with Kopecky finishing in a time of 3:29.33. The victory was a delightful moment for the home crowd, as she crossed the finish line ahead of competitors Charlotte Kool from the Netherlands and Lara Gillespie from Ireland, who finished second and third respectively.
In addition to Kopecky's standout performance, Laura Lizette Sander, competing for Hitec Products – Fluid Control, finished 27th overall despite experiencing doubts following her recent struggles. Sander had previously faced disappointment by not finishing the IXINA Leeuw-Oetingen race, which significantly affected her mental confidence. However, her ability to finish within the main group this time has helped her regain some much-needed self-assurance.
The event not only highlights Kopecky's individual talent but also serves as a crucial morale boost for Sander, who shared her thoughts on overcoming mental challenges in the sport. Sander's experience underscores the psychological aspects of competitive cycling, where confidence plays a vital role in performance, indicating that despite setbacks, athletes can recover and return stronger than before.
