The corpse of a 29-year-old man, Alberto Pereira de Araújo, was discovered dismembered inside a suitcase at Santinho Beach in Florianópolis towards the end of 2025. The Civil Police have identified Araújo's body and are exploring potential links to another gruesome crime involving Luciani Aparecida Estivalet Freitas, a real estate agent who was also murdered and dismembered earlier that month in the same tourist region.
