The Brazilian city of Sorocaba launches an AI challenge offering R$ 1.5 million in prizes to foster innovation through industry and startup collaboration.
The Sorocaba Technology Park (PTS) is hosting the launch of the Brazilian Artificial Intelligence Challenge (DB-IA), aimed at fostering collaboration between industries and technology startups. The competition will award over R$ 1.5 million to the top 30 companies that provide innovative solutions to industry problems using artificial intelligence. Registrations open simultaneously with the launch, inviting startups, developers, and universities to submit solutions tailored to specific challenges presented by participating industries.
This initiative seeks to create a bridge where real industrial challenges can be addressed through the expertise of startups and academic institutions. Each of the 30 selected industries will receive R$ 50,000 to implement the winning technological solutions proposed by the developers. Organizers argue that this connection encourages economic growth and innovation in Brazil, particularly within the tech sector, by addressing pressing industry needs.
Nelson Cancellara, president of PTS, emphasizes the initiative's role in strengthening the economy while highlighting the importance of leveraging artificial intelligence in addressing industrial challenges. The DB-IA represents a strategic opportunity for startups to contribute to significant real-world applications of AI, thus placing themselves at the forefront of Brazil's technological advancements in various sectors.
