Ukrainian forces have attacked two Russian aircraft manufacturing and maintenance facilities in Ulyanovsk and Novgorod, leading to significant damage.
The General Staff of Ukraine's Armed Forces announced that it conducted strikes against two Russian aircraft manufacturing and maintenance plants located in Ulyanovsk and Novgorod. The facility in Ulyanovsk, which is a subsidiary of the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC), was hit on March 16, and is known for producing military transport aircraft such as the Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A and tanker aircraft like the Ilyushin Il-78M-90A. Additionally, this plant provides maintenance services for commercial aircraft including the Antonov An-124 Ruslan, and it is situated approximately 800 kilometers from the Ukrainian border. The strikes reportedly resulted in damage to hangars and parking areas, affecting several aircraft.
