Four men were arrested on Tuesday morning in Itatiba, São Paulo, suspected of a truck theft and kidnapping of three individuals. The incident occurred while two truck drivers and one of their wives were sleeping at an abandoned gas station on the BR-381 highway in Atibaia, where they were ambushed by the suspects. The victims were beaten and threatened before being bound and placed in the back of their truck cab.

The suspects took control of the vehicle and drove it along the Luciano Consoline highway, stopping in a wooded area. A witness to the crime alerted the police, stating that individuals were tied up in the area. Responding swiftly, police, supported by the municipal guard and the Águia helicopter unit, located the victims, who were subsequently found in distress and in need of medical attention. They were treated and transported to a hospital for further care.
