Lebanon: The Bridges of Litani are Targets for Israel and Hezbollah Engages in Clashes in Khyam
Intensified Israeli airstrikes in Beirut and various regions of Lebanon have resulted in numerous casualties and destruction, with Hezbollah engaging in confrontations in the south.
On Wednesday, a series of heavy Israeli airstrikes in Beirut, Lebanon's capital, resulted in the deaths of at least 12 individuals and the destruction of a ten-story building. These attacks are part of a broader campaign where the Israeli military has announced plans to target bridges along the Litani River. In response to the ongoing military actions, warnings have been issued to residents regarding evacuations due to the continuous air and artillery bombardments in various locations across Lebanon. A correspondent reported that the town of Sahmar in Lebanon's Bekaa region was also hit by an Israeli airstrike, while the Kfar Shuba area in southern Lebanon endured artillery fire. Over the duration of eight hours, Israeli forces targeted four buildings in densely populated neighborhoods of Beirut. The pro-Hezbollah station, Al-Manar, confirmed the death of Muhammad Shre, the channel's political program director, and his wife during one of the strikes in the Zuqaq al-Blat area. In southern Lebanon, state media revealed that air raids targeted a fuel station, resulting in fatalities, including a member of the local municipality. Moreover, the official Lebanese National News Agency reported that four people lost their lives in an airstrike on Baalbek in eastern Lebanon. The ongoing escalation highlights the risks civilians face amid the conflict and reflects the deepening tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, with wider implications for the region's stability.
