A Palestinian was killed and another wounded in Israeli shelling targeting a camp for displaced people in Gaza, while 16 Palestinian women were arrested in the West Bank.
On Wednesday, a Palestinians was reported dead and another injured following Israeli airstrikes aimed at a camp for displaced individuals in the Gaza Strip. According to medical sources, the victim and the wounded were transferred to Nasser Hospital after being stricken by an Israeli drone strike that hit a tent in the al-Mawasi area west of Khan Younis. Simultaneously, Israeli artillery targeted eastern areas of Gaza, while heavy gunfire originated from military personnel stationed in the east, compounded by Israeli naval vessels firing on the coastline of Gaza City.
These ongoing Israeli attacks come despite a ceasefire agreement that has been in effect since October 10, raising concerns about the continuation of violence. Reports indicate that since the ceasefire began, 673 Palestinians have been killed and 1,799 others wounded, emphasizing the humanitarian crisis unfolding in the region. The assault on Gaza since October 2023 has resulted in over 72,000 fatalities and nearly 172,000 injuries, alongside significant destruction to infrastructure and residential areas.
In addition to the shelling, Israeli forces have conducted a series of arrests in the occupied West Bank, detaining 16 Palestinian women.
